HELP Needed

Post by cdnduck » Tue Sep 12, 2017 8:12 pm

Good Evening: I have been using the Resmed S9 for almost 5 years now (anniversary date is Oct 26, 2017) and I have been fine for 95% of the past 5 years. However back in June I experience a job loss that hit home, and the next month started to have issues with waking up with a headache. In the past, this has been because something on my machine was dirty, whether it was the hose, water tank, filter, mask. Since early July I have purchase a new hose, water tank, mask and changed the filter. Still it was better but every other morning I would wake up with a headache. Better but still in the early days I never had an headache!

I just checked my data on SleepHead and notice that on July 27 my data shows an increase in pressure (yes i have a APAP machine). It went from a low/high of 6/10 to a new 9/13. This gradual increase was from July 27 to August 1st. Since then I have been in that range.

Could this be the cause of my sudden morning headaches? All other data looks good, AHI is practically zero. The only other issue I notice that my leaks peaked on August 1 at 68 and since then has gradually come down to 30. (don't know the units of measure on sleepyhead). I have been sleeping more on my side than before.

Any ideas? I'm about to get a new machine (Airsense 10) on my official anniversary date, but that still is a month and a half away? Would like to avoid this pain till the new machine arrives, assuming that this is tied to the machine, somehow, someway.

thanks!

What does Sleepyhead say about your leak rates, people with nasal masks do mouthleak. Jim

Since July 27th leaks have gone down from a high of 68 (don't know what unit of measure sleepyhead uses) to last night a low of 10.

My average leak rate is less than 1.
My 90% leak rate is below 5.

Your numbers are much larger. My guess is that you are leaking badly which MIGHT be disturbing your sleep.
It is always best if you post your data (see links below).

It doesn't actually work that way.
