Anyone go through Apria?

Post by ApneaQueen » Thu Sep 07, 2017 1:47 pm

New to everthing and have severe sleep Apnea .Since I found out I'm literally afraid to sleep! It seems to be taking forever to get my machine. I just learned that I will be going through Apria and I cant find any info on them. I got a recorded phone call that said I will hear from them in 5 days . Is that the delivery day or when they will make the appt to deliver?

My work insurance (BCBS) uses Apria exclusively and I most often receive shipment within two days of placing the order. Never had any problem but it probably helps that my coverage includes supplies at 100%.

Hopefully you will have a good experience with them. But if you don't and want to know you're not alone, put "Crapria" in the search box on the top of this page under CPAPtalk.com.

Have fun!

I used them for awhile upon starting Medicare.
I had to leave after they started demanding my credit card number,
even though my supplement covers 100% of the deductible and copays.
Luckily, I found a locally-owned/run DME that are responsive and straightforward.

ApneaQueen, If you have no choice but to use Apria tell them you don't have a credit card, if they insist get a pre-paid credit card. Do NOT give them a debit card for any reason, if you have already your only way out is to close that account.

In case it isn't clear the Apria billing dept is notoriously terrible. It will be just a matter of time before they yank your chain.

I have used Apria for a number of years. I have never had them demand a credit card number and I have never given them one. I have had them try to tell me that their not having my CC number on file might slow deliveries. That has not happened. The only thing about Apria that really irritated me was the response of their Respiratory Techs when I had a question or needed help. The RTs never were available when I called and almost never called me back. Plus I got some incorrect advice from the RT supervisor, who I think just wanted to get me off the phone. That was a long time ago and I have not needed their advice for quite a while. Their supplies service has been good.
