Right now my CPAP machine starts the ramp up after like 2 minutes. Does anyone know how to change the time it stays at a lower pressure? I'd like it set at 20 minutes so I can fall asleep before the increased pressure makes my ears hurt.

I have a Resmed S8 Elite. There are up and down arrow keys on the key board. Do you have anything like this on your cpap? I am slow to go asleep so I set mine for 40 minutes.

Dunno if this will work and your mileage may vary
Unplug your machine... and when you go to plug it back in, push the left and right buttons until it beeps... that should get you into the clinical menu. To change a setting push the ramp or humidifer button. To go to the next setting push left or right (depending on which way you want to go). To end, push start (can't remember if it beeps again at that point).
That's how the auto's reset.

Ramp
To each his own, but I personally think a ramp is useless and probably used by those as a habit rather than a beneficial feature.
I think it is a marketing tool and sounds good.
It ususlly takes me a very long time to go to sleep and the ramp is totally useless FOR ME.

Bet we are all sleeping better than Mr Foley these days.
I can just imagine him in the recovery center

You can change your starting ramp pressure, but you cannot change the amount of time it takes to get up to your full pressure. Here's how to change the ramp pressure (which is a user settable function that doesn't need a script to change):
On your Remstar Plus....with it plugged in but NOT on, push the ramp button and hold it down for about 5-7 seconds. It should then display your starting ramp pressure. You can use the humidifer and ramp buttons to go up or down to the pressure you wish to start at. Once you get it to where you desire....push the power button. You'll see that you can also change your altitude, the light configuration, and on some models the mask alarm while in this menu mode, but I recommended that you don't. Once you cycle through all the settings with the on/off button...it should be set and will display your hours again.
The next time you turn on your machine to use it, it should go to your full pressure, then when you hit the ramp it will go to that new ramp pressure you just set. It will immediately start to go up incrimentally every minute or two, so if ramp time is the issue for you I suggest you get your DME to reset the ramp time for your preference. The DME can't change how long it waits before beginning the ramp, but they can change how long it takes to work its way up to the full pressure.
