keep taking mask off
so I am using the cpap machine, I can leave the mask on but I keep taking off the mask and a result I only use it for 1-2 hours. Anyone want to give any pointers? The apneas are below 5 and I have the pressure minimum of 10 and max of 15.
Re: keep taking mask off
So why are you taking it off?
Awake and taking it off and simply don't put it back on or doing it in the middle of the night and don't remember it and not realize it until morning?

I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
Re: keep taking mask off
Put a chin strap around the mask or tape it to your face. Go to padacheek.com and look at her anti leak strap for that mask.

Re: keep taking mask off
I couldnt handle the full face mask. I taught myself to breathe through my nose and have had good success with nasal and nasal pillows.
So I would suggest trying a new mask or making as comfortable as possible with what you have

I take off the mask without realizing the next morning. I don't have a chin strap. I have tried the nasal mask but took it off again.Doublev wrote:I couldnt handle the full face mask. I taught myself to breathe through my nose and have had good success with nasal and nasal pillows.

If the therapy is important to you, you will try some of these suggestions. You may need to spend a few $$$.Sleep_Apnea_Sufferer wrote:LSAT wrote:Put a chin strap around the mask or tape it to your face. Re: keep taking mask off
Put a scarf on over your mask and tie it in a knot under your chin.

A chinstrap over the mask straps or you could use medical tape and tape the mask straps to your face. Anything to make it difficult to take it off in your sleep.

Re: keep taking mask off
Suspect you are taking the mask off while asleep (or at least not waking to do so) so have little capability to not take the mask off. Best solution is to contact a Doctor that specialiizes in Sleep Apnia - preferably the Doc that maybe you had a sleep study with or gave you the prescription that got you your CPAP equipment. If you are not averse to a little Kink - you could have your hands handcuffed to the head board - who know something every more exciting that sleeping through the night without taking off your mask might happen to you.
