I went to a few Snipe Hunts as a Boy Scout, never did see one. Snark Hunts are much easier to find, probably because they breed in dark areas. They also tend to run in packs. one starts squeaking, making it easy to track, then the others rush in and start squeaking too. Be sure to wear ear plugs when hunting them, the noise levels can become unbearable. Happy Hunting! Jimarchangle wrote:That's unfair.Pugsy wrote:Actually I have been on vacation.

Getting old doesn't make you 'forgetful'. Having too damn many things to remember makes you 'forgetful'.

I just hooked my cpap to a battery. Use it whenever I use my cpap, Life is Good.Goofproof wrote:I gave you the morning off, woke up at 9:01 not able to breath, another power outage (storm damage they say 889 houses) thats twice in 11 days, you would thing we live rural not in a city of 75,000. Re: Pugsy's gone again...
Set yourself up to run on 12 volts, you can have a battery or 2, or you can sleep in your car or a neighbor's van or whatever. I was all set for 10 years until this new 24 volt resmed machine. Now I'll need to have 2 batteries in series or buy and use their inefficient step up transformer.
I suppose the second battery allows for me to run the humidifier so it's not necessarily a bad thing long term, just an inconvenience/worry until I get it all set.

the resmed power *converter* (not transformer) is supposed to be over 96% efficient, if I remember right.RonS wrote:their inefficient step up transformer.
boost converters are typically very efficient.

Re: Pugsy's gone again...
Aw heck, I used to live in Minneapolis and we had brown outs and power outs regularly. Rarely anything beyond 30 minutes, but it was a pain considering it was a good sized city (you've heard of it, right?). Now, I live in a small city (63,000) and our county has its own power company and it takes pretty bad storms (or a squirrel fried on the line) to get a power out. Last year we had several longer power outs due not to storms but to stupid stuff involved with the re-construction of the feeder street at the end of our block.Goofproof wrote:I gave you the morning off, woke up at 9:01 not able to breath, another power outage (storm damage they say 889 houses) thats twice in 11 days, you would thing we live rural not in a city of 75,000.
