Sometimes mouth breathing with nasal pillows.

Post by Sleepyv » Wed Jul 05, 2017 7:56 pm

Every once in a while I will wake up with air blowing out of my mouth, I use nasel pillows. Swift FX, I find them very comfortable. Would that show up as a leak on my machine? It's not very often but wonder if I do it very often while I'm sleeping and don't know it. I also grind my teeth so I just figured I always keep my mouth closed.

Thanks,

Sleepyv

Use sleepyhead (its free) to look at the data on your SD card - then you can see all including unwanted leaking.
I use ultimate chin strap to minimize mouth leaking.

It will show up as a leak on your statistics. If you use Sleepyhead to monitor your therapy, you will see when you have leaks.

Use a sports mouth guard not only will it help you to keep your mouth closed but will help keep you from ruining your teeth.

Good point - I use that in addition to the Ultimate Chin Strap.

looked on my sleepyhead and I have the leak at same time almost every night. At about 6:30 in morning, then I wake up. I would like to sleep longer because I'm a night owl. Don't get to sleep till about a 12:30 or 1:00 am. I really need about 9 hours to feel good but I think the leaks wake me at that time every morning. Strange?
