Star Trek

Just catching up on Star Trek (TNG) and there was an episode where the whole starship was going bonkers after 10 days without REM sleep.
As in, killing each other bonkers.
And I was thinking, little snowflakes, try OSA for a few years

Pre-cpap: weepiness, or rage at the tiniest things.
Now, these conditions usually only emerge with good reason, generally damn good reason!

Totally agree.

Going for decades without treatment I had to try to raise children and deal with what I didn't realize was a very abusive marriage.

Once treated, I was a different person, literally.

Star Trek did show most Americans what they didn't know about sleep - that going without it can kill you.

It like many T.V. series, were, are loaded with social engineering, how do you account for the 180 degree flip in this country. If you are told something that's wrong is right enough, you believe it, unless you have a strong B.S. detector, that is supposed to be installed by your parents, however sometimes their's is defective or they just don't care what kind of young people they turn loose on the world. Oh man, I can't even start to imagine how it must be to have to take care of children with even less sleep.

Bitterness, misplaced feelings of entitlement, shall I continue?

My point is that episode of Trek has nothing to do with sleep apnea or science. The poster Heard Hoofs, and because they have sleep apnea jumped directly into seeing Horses. If you really pay attention to what you watch, you will see what the show is truly about. In the meantime, watch out for herds of horses running wild. Jim

Many TV scripts lift premises from the news, or alternatively, the "news".
All it proves is that writers block can be temporarily alleviated with a shot of plagiarism.
