The patients are similar until after the cpap has been used.
And some patients who do not have CSA in initial cpap titration develop CSA during longer term treatment.
Sleep studies also measure chest movement. They want to know if the lungs are trying to inhale/exhale or not. They usually know before titration which type of events they are trying to prevent. Some people do get clear airway events with higher pressure, so those may show up during the titration or at home. But a full data machine will record them, and treatment can be adjusted.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Thank god trump is pushing through his plan. When there is limited healthcare for many, a lot of people won't have to worry about choosing a doctor
