pads

Common sense says that the more a mask comes in contact with the face, the more problems your gonna have. That's why your nasalaires and swifts are so popular. They don't have much contact with the skin.

ComfortCurve Pads keep falling off

Post by cpapster » Mon May 15, 2006 11:08 pm

I have been using the ComfortCurve for a few months and have had a generally positive experience. I have no problems getting a good seal.

What I DO have a big problem with is that the pads keep coming off in the middle of the night. It seems that they are very easily displaced and fall off.

Is it just me? Has anyone come up with a way to keep them in place better? Thanks.

Finally got it right

I did a few more adjustments with my CC mask and have been using it for months now. It has actually become my favorite mask at this point. I am even able to sleep on my side with it, I think that my down pillow helps.

Oddly, I seem to be allergic to the foam pads; gave me a contact rash. The silicon pads hold the mask too far from my face, though, so I can't use those, either.

Personally, I recommend Molefoam, available at the same place, which has a bit more padding than standard Moleskin. With a bit of cotton ball inside as padding, the mask is comfortable and usually lasts a month or better before needing to be re-skinned. One pack of two strips does three complete changes (six pads).

I love the comfort curve and the silicone pads work just fine for me but I do find that once in a while when I take it off in the morning the pads stick to my face and fall off. My mask came with both the silicone and foam pads but I prefer the silicone pads over the foam because they do stick to my face and actually help keep the mask from slipping and thus leaking. Only thing I don't get is why a replacement cushion costs so much. They give you all 3 sizes when you buy the mask but only the medium works for me. I wonder if I ever order another CC if they'd give me 3 medium cushions.

Agree that sometimes the pads will stick to the skin, and I think they are supposed to, too. I find out that if I'm not careful in removing the mask that one of the pads will come off. I have a very bad habit of just taking it off over my head instead of unsnapping the straps. Can't seem to connect the darn thing again. Whereas, with the pads, if I can find them in the dark by feeling around, I can usually put them back on in a flash...as long as I am putting them on where they go instead of the opposite side.
