When I am wearing my Breeze, if I am facing my wife, the air blows right on her. When I wear my Activa, it bothers her if it hits the blankets because of the noise.

I answered no because now it doesn't. When I first started therapy I told him I know what bothers me, it's the smell and he said no I know what bothers me, its the cold air blowing on my back. Cover my back up. He didn't care. He thought it was funny.

The ComfortFull 2 exhaust vents upwards and this doesn't seem to be an issue for either of us.

The ComfortCurve vents straight ahead, but the force of the venting seems to be lower than my ConfortFull 2. The CF2 vents upward, unless I have the hose shifted to the left or right. So far neither mask has created an exhaust problem for us. Exhausting for me, maybe.

mask venting

Post by Mile High Sleeper » Mon Sep 25, 2006 3:51 pm

I'm amazed that so many people aren't bothered by mask venting. It bothers me by blowing air on my hands and arms as a side sleeper. I have to keep them covered when using my UMFF mask, which interrupts my sleep whenever I turn over.

I have no venting problems when wearing the aura aka AEIOMed headrest with nasal pillows, since it vents upward.

I have problems with the exhaust ports because I hate air blowing on my arms or hands. Maybe I need therapy.....

No problems because the Aura vents upwards.

I sleep on my side facing away from my wife and as far as the noise its much quieter than my snoring.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body totally worn out and screaming,WOO HOO what a ride!

I use ff, sleep on side, and don't like the air blowing on my arms and hands. Sometimes it's a bit tricky keeping covers over arms/hands without blocking exhale vents. Covers keep sliding off arms and delays my falling asleep. When I awaken during night, this problem does not bother me as much, but it bothers me a lot when trying to get to sleep.

Yes, The exhaust noise bothers me and my wife. The exhaust air blows directly towards her when I'm sleeping on my side facing her.

I use a Respironics ComfortLite2 mask. My CPAP is a Fisher and Paykel HC604

No problems with the Aura.

Others I've had either blew on my husband or the sheets.

I never notice my CL 2 exhaust. I have to occasionally check it, though. Sometimes I wonder if the whole CPAP system is on, and I put my hand up to the exhaust to check.

Leaks around the direct seal or the nasal pillows I feel MUCH more.

I'll also throw in my opinion. I use Adam's Circuit and used to use Breeze. I also sleep on my side and the exhaust really bothered me. Couldn't sleep under covers because the noise was too loud anytime the exhaust blew on covers or pillow. Also bothered my wife when I faced her.

The hybrid exhaust only bothered my husband once, He thought I was leaking. When he found out it was supposed to do that he went back to sleep and hasn't noticed it since.
