Coming Soon Near You...

Post by sthnreb » Tue Sep 19, 2006 11:20 am

On October 1st the new ResMed Preferred Internet Provider program will go into effect. What the program means is that XXXXXX will be one of an elite group of Internet retailers authorized to distribute ResMed equipment online. The program will also introduce ResMed Approved pricing to all online merchandise which means that at XXXXXX we'll be required to raise many of our ResMed Mask prices by 40% or more! While we will continue to offer the lowest ResMed mask prices online, we want to make sure you have an opportunity now to buy your masks before the prices go up. Thank you and sleep well.

It's true I think...

I've seen similar statements in newsletters from both cpapXchange.com and cpap.com. I'd say buy your ResMed now or switch masks next month!

CPAP.COM ---
https://www.cpap.com/DisplayNewsletter/24

CPAP.com text from Early September says... Resmed Delays Price Increase To Internet Buyers - Resmed has pushed back the launch date of a plan to put a 40% price increase into effect for their products sold on the internet. Initially, Resmed informed online CPAP Retailers that their plan would go into effect September 4th 2006 for those who applied and were accepted as Resmed Authorized Internet Retailers.

CPAPXCHANGE.COM ---
I don't have a link to the cpapXchange.com newsletter (although I think that's the text from it in the first post in this topic.) but you can get to the newsletter signup by going to the link on their homepage.

Another addition...

I checked cpapplus.com as well and here's what they have to say...

http://cpapplus.com/Newsletters/July_06.html

As stated in our flyer sent out last week, RESMED has officially introduced sweeping reforms as it pertains to internet sales of RESMED products. While RESMED states they have the patient’s best interest in mind, they have mandated ALL internet sites to raise their prices on CPAP machines, masks and some mask parts. The price increase is estimated to be approximately 40-60%....

Another update on Resmed

Post by sthnreb » Tue Sep 26, 2006 6:33 pm

Resmed Policies Will Soon Effect CPAP Internet Buyers and Providers

We are compelled to inform you that effective October 1st, Resmed will impose new dealer limitations which will have a profound effect on all those who may be interested in buying Resmed products online. Here are the main points:

Resmed has chosen to grant only certain Internet CPAP providers permission to sell their products over the Internet. All other existing Internet providers will no longer be able to buy Resmed products.

Resmed is imposing price controls on all of their masks, humidifiers and machines sold over the Internet. This results in price increases for the consumer of 40% to 45% on average and in some cases much more. These price increases do not effect traditional "Brick and Mortar" CPAP providers.

Resmed will no longer allow the sale of their software products over the Internet.
Resmed has publicly stated that they are actively working to depress the sales of their products through Internet retailers. We advise anyone wanting to buy Resmed products from an Internet retailer to complete their purchases no later than Saturday, September 30, 2006. CPAP.com will offer Resmed products in October consistent with Resmed policies. Resmed pricing will be much higher and inconsistent with market forces and competitor's offerings.

After speaking with other manufacturers at the Medtrade Convention in Atlanta, it is clear that most are committed to building relationships with all CPAP patients and providers. We think that is the best way forward.
