In the U.S. (and probably most other industrialized countries), CPAP is prescribed by a medical doctor (generally after one or more sleep studies) and paid for by private or public health insurance.
I'm wondering if anybody in a different country has just "decided" to buy a CPAP and somehow self-titrate.
Also, has anybody skipped any of the above steps, such as sign up for a study without seeing a doctor, been prescribed a machine without a study, etc.?
Thanks.
