Data capture using Sleepyhead ??

Post by Ric » Tue May 23, 2017 11:02 am

I am ready to purchase my next APAP machine, deciding between the Airsense 10 Autoset (Resmed) and the Dreamstation AUTO (Respironics). Data capture and analysis is an important consideration. Does Sleepyhead software acquire and analyze either machine, and are there issues with data transfer? Is one machine better than another with regard to data capture and analysis? Related question, is the Resmed "Rescan" software (legitimately) available anywhere? I didn't find it quicky. Or the Encore Pro 2.2 (for Dreamstation) ?? Advice appreciated.

SleepyHead works well with either brand.
There are minor differences in the data that is gathered and how it is presented but those differences aren't real deal breakers.
Like Respironics flags flow limitations as a separate event similar to an apnea or hyponea flag. ResMed shows flow limitations as a graph instead of a flagged event so a bit different way of looking at and evaluation is needed.

This video might help to give you an idea what ResScan looks like and yes...it's easy to find if you know where to look and the same can be said of Encore Pro.

I don't have a similar product for Encore...the one example I had the link is no longer valid.
To be honest...my go to first software is SleepyHead and I have both ResScan and Encore available (I own both brands of machines).
SleepyHead is simpler and faster for what I want to see or do.

Send me a PM if you end up wanting Encore Pro.
For ResScan...follow the directions here....You need to register and be logged in.

just below the list of all the ResMed models is this line with a link in it...follow the link

many programs can analyse or display it

sleepyhead does many but not all machines

your machine maker may have their own software you can get to use
there are several euro source programs available to analyse EDF files
For gawd sake. Thankful that Pugsy got here before you.

Pugsy's information on Sleepyhead is correct. Sleepyhead is one of the best (if not the best) sleep analysis software to use. Software produced by the manufacturers does not approach what you will get with Sleepyhead.
