One simple way to fix this is to change the sign up procedure to needing permission to join the forum though without any form of moderation that might be hard. The other way is to use something like Captcha for sign up.
That's one more thing you could have learned by reading the forum, "We Don't Do Change Here", there are lots of things here I would change here, but I am a user, not a owner, the owners pay the bill, and they set the rules, that's the way it is, and should be. People come here and want to change the way things are done, the old timers work within the limits. Captcha sucks, always has always will, I try to stay logged in so I don't have to mess with it, I also try to write down my user name and password, for the most part it painless... Jim

I agree that Captcha sucks but it is a lot quicker than the 5 minutes I just spent deleting this foreign crap. Yes, the owners pay the bills but they are overpaying the one that ensures site security. Once again, as I found out during the deletion process, Incapsula are the group that deal with site security and they obviously suck. Has anyone informed the owners (Cpap.com) that this happening?

There were 9 posts when I logged in this morning. I SPAM deleted them all. They did disappear but I have tried to delete some of them recently and they didn't fall off the main page for several days. It was weird.

I think the spammers create an account, then hook up their robot to post for around 10 minutes,
as most new spam threads are a minute or less apart. It looks like cut and paste; and last time I encountered it,
I was aware that another forum member was deleting them too. TEAMWORK to stomp the cockroaches!

Seems like somewhere in there is a great story about the attack of the Zombie Spam. Novel would start something like this: On a dark and stormy night, PAPer boy sat by a still fireplace. Lightning cracked off like a firecracker, one after another. Then, during a lull, PAPer heard the click and woosh of a vacuum seal can being opened......

Carry on

For those unaware: some very serious, very capable ransomware was being strewn about the interweb last week, we should all appreciate that our hosts took measures to nip it in the bud here.
