Re: Turning Off or On the CPAP without Unplugging
Guys, should I leave the machine plugged in all the time or it drains power? I usually unplug it in the morning but not sure that data it send to my physician would get hindered. Also, is there a way to deactivate the humidifier without separating it. Machine - Auto CPAP (Phillips Respironics Dreamstation).

It draws very little power in stand by mode and needs power to transmit the data to whomever might be watching it.Michandola wrote:Guys, should I leave the machine plugged in all the time or it drains power? Maybe leave it in stand by until no one is watching or needing anything it might be transmitting...and then unplug it if you wish.
And yes, you can easily deactivate the humidifier without removing it.
You just need to go into the clinical setup menu and turn the humidifier menu selection to "OFF". Then it won't power the heating plate at all...you can use it that way with water in the chamber and get very minimal added moisture or you can remove the water totally. Without heat to the heating plate it hurts nothing to have the humidifier attached without water in it. You do have to go into the setup menu though to make that change.

If, for any reason, you don't wish to leave it powered on, you can go into "My Provider" on the main menu, and turn the knob one position clockwise. It will say "send/receive." Push the knob in and it will send; make sure that the send is successful. Then you don't need to leave the power on, they already have their data.
This is also useful if the light switch turns off all the power off in your bedroom (yes, some residences have that). It's also useful if you're on a trip and checking out of all your hotels very early.

How affective is your nasal mask? I am confused my reading are excellent but I wouldn't say that I am having excellent 'feel good'. First couple of days were excellent. But for some reasons I cannot fall sleep fully. I am always aware of surroundings. Maybe I am just an active sleeper.armyretired wrote:I did a complete reset of all the data. Now it is giving me 0.7 every day for an AHI because the first night after the reset I did get 0.7 which is about right for me.Michandola wrote:I don't think so that it turn off until you pull the plug out. I have Phillips Respironics Auto cpap and I too wondered about it.

I only unplug mine when I travel, replace it, or during an electrical storm. (when I think of it)
Lightning will go right through a power strip, at least the ones I can afford.
