Full face masks

Post by den942 » Thu Apr 06, 2017 6:07 pm

I have been using a ResMed Mirage Quattro for years. I don't know what changed but I'm having a lot of trouble with air leakage blowing in my eyes the last couple months. I don't know if they are making the gasket slightly different or what. I do know it is getting to be a problem for my eyes. Any suggestions on what to do? Is there a similar mask that may work better for me?

Is your mask older, less resilient even after using baby wipes daily (or weekly as some do)? Have you gained even a little weight, or lost some = your face is the first place to know it.

the headgear may have lost it's elasticity?

Have you had this mask apart for cleaning? Are you sure it went back together the right way?

Do you have a brand new mask to try?

I have been using the Quattro for 8 years. I have not noticed any change. As you get older your face tends to shrink a little. Also at night your facial muscles relax and may cause leaks during the night.

One of the things I disliked about the Quattro was how easy it was to put it back together incorrectly.

The masks start leaking when a week or two old. I clean with baby wipes about every other day. I have lost some weight so maybe that could be some of the problem.

I get leaks even when the headgear is so tight it is uncomfortable.

I don't take the gasket out for cleaning, just when I replace it. It is seated properly...

the question is what you're doing wrong with those cushions, I went *four years* on my first one, waiting for it to fail.

I wiped it nightly with hand sanitizer to remove oils, and then washed it with dawn soap every week, and used cloth mask liners.
