Turning Off or On the CPAP without Unplugging
I was toll I needed to do a 'reboot' of my machine which might help fix a problem. They said to first turn the machine off. Then unplug it. Wait 15 minutes then plug it back in and turn it back on. [Almost like a reboot of a computer] How do you turn it off? I have a Dreamstation Bipap. Thanks.

just unplug it from the wall.

Most of these machines are on "standby" all the time they are plugged in.
Somebody knows less than they claim to.

I believe that they really meant that the fan should not be blowing when you pull out the plug.
Re: Turning Off or On the CPAP without Unplugging
if you hold down the power button on the s9 (and maybe on the air10) it'll actually turn off... though I've never figured out why that's a good thing.chunkyfrog wrote:Most of these machines are on "standby" all the time they are plugged in.

I do that all the time and nothing happens to fix my problem.. Every morning it says my AHI is 2.1. Eight days in a row of 2.1 is not correct. I am usually at 1.0 or lower. What is wrong that it keeps saying 2.1?palerider wrote:just unplug it from the wall.

well, as you say, just like a computer, when you power it off, that resets it... appropriate because those machines have a small computer inside them.armyretired wrote:I do that all the time and nothing happens to fix my problem.. as to the 2.1, you're not 1.0 or lower anymore, instead of fussing about rebooting the machine, if you want to find out what's going on, load sleepyhead on a computer, and find out.

Take it to your DME and have them "reset data". Make sure they record you old data first.

Off topic, but dig your username there. '02 WRX owner here...Sedona Red. Lots of go-fast additions .WRX03 wrote:Take it to your DME and have them "reset data". Make sure they record you old data first.

OT: Funny I was from Indy until 05. It was my wife's 03 Sedona Red. Cobb stage 2, mix of Daddy's downpipe and midpipe that I welded the stock shields over, Fujisubo muffler. HFC uppipe, Port matched stock headers, aftermarket crossover, ported stock turbo-ceramic coated them all. One of my ported throttle bodies and assorted minor goodies. Tried to look and sound as stock as possible. Grandma aged college professors aren't suppose to driving around in potato shooters.linuxman wrote:Off topic, but dig your username there. Re: Turning Off or On the CPAP without Unplugging
OT: Cool. I was in the Portland when I got my '02, so had access to the very vibrant Subaru scene there. Good friends with Jeff Perrin, Tim Bailey (now at Cobb) and others up there. Spent a lot of time under the hood with those guys on a zillion different cars. My '02 is in a similar sort of mode right now...stealth. I had a VF22 turbo on it for a while, full custom standalone ECU, and full race suspension when I tracked it at PIR (just track days, not real racing). I bought a Miata and fixed it up for track days, so reverted the WRX to street mode. Now it's a VF39, semi-stock suspension, but still have the APC front mount inter-cooler on it and big exhaust and Ecutek mod of the stock ECU. Fortunately I never ripped into the interior (other than adding aftermarket leather and some gauges) when I was in track mode with the car, so it's still a good street machine (unlike the Miata that has no interior to speak of and a roll cage ).WRX03 wrote:OT: Funny I was from Indy until 05. I don't think so that it turn off until you pull the plug out. I have Phillips Respironics Auto cpap and I too wondered about it.

I did a complete reset of all the data. Now it is giving me 0.7 every day for an AHI because the first night after the reset I did get 0.7 which is about right for me.Michandola wrote:I don't think so that it turn off until you pull the plug out. Good because it saves electricity.
