Continued high levels of AHI while using Resmed Airsense 10
Continued high levels of AHI while using Resmed Airsense 10
Hi. I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea in April 2016. I began treatment with my Resmed 10 Airsense Autoset. I just recently started monitoring my nightly progress via the Resmed Dashboard MyAir App and I am having a lot of episodes per night. My AHI ranges from 2-22 events per hour depending on the night. I have had my pressures adjusted once and it seemed to help temporarily but now I am seeing high number of events almost nightly. Last night my machine registered 22.5 events per hour! This is not acceptable to me! Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts? Thanks. Mike

Re: Continued high levels of AHI while using Resmed Airsense 10
Ok I'll check it out. Can I change my own pressures? Where do I even begin to adjust them? I can get into the clinician area of machine but what do I do to the pressures???
Re: Continued high levels of AHI while using Resmed Airsense 10
Yes you can change you own pressure and it's not hard to do. The manual explains the little trick to get into the clinical setup menu.

BUT before you do that let's make sure that what you are wanting to fix with more pressure is fixable with more pressure.
If that higher AHI is predominantly central/clear airway more pressure may not fix it and it might make things worse.
So let's see for sure what is going on before you go changing stuff.

Please note if you are using Windows on your computer...don't do the full screen thing it talks about. There's a bug in SH with full screen and Windows...and it locks up SH and you won't like it.

We don't need to see each and every graph that SleepyHead will give you. We just need the basics and then if we want something else we will ask.

Calm down. Post some screenshots of a good night and a bad night. Use Pugsy's instructions that she has given you twice.MJP928 wrote:And how do I fix this????? Please help!

What was your AHI and category breakdown on your sleep study?
Learn here how to organize graphs. take a screenshot and use Imgur to post it here so we can take a look. There are 3 pages so be sure and click at the bottom of the page to go to the next one. https://sleep.tnet.com/resources/sleepyhead/shorganize
If you are using Windows do not use the Full Screen as it instructs. For some reason Windows doesn't play nice with that.

I just posted 2 charts! Thanks in advance!OkyDoky wrote:What was your AHI and category breakdown on your sleep study? Total of 276 apneas (37 central and 77 hypopnea) Apnea index was 51.1 and AHI was 65.4. The central apnea index was 6.9 per hour.

AHI was 65.4
37 central apneas
77 hypopneas
37 central apneas
77 hypopneas
Re: Continued high levels of AHI while using Resmed Airsense 10
So you had centrals on your sleep study. The Autoset has controlled the hypopneas but it will not treat centrals because increased pressure will not help them. You need to be talking to your doctor about treating the centrals with a different machine.MJP928 wrote:AHI was 65.4
