Post by Carlover » Tue Feb 21, 2017 5:34 pm

I am new with dealing with this machine mask and was wondering since it is wireless for them to receive data from a loner machine that I am using is it normal that I hafe to call them to let them know that the mask leaks or is it there job to contact me to let me know that mask leaks? Don't really know what 2 think just looking for some advice please.

IF (big If) the DME even looks at the leaks they may not get too excited until your leaks go past the 30% or more of the night spent in large leak.

Any leak...even if it is a tiny leak...that disturbs your sleep is unwanted. So if leaks are bugging you and disturbing your sleep they may or may not even be reaching large leak territory and you want to bring it to their attention no matter what or how big or little they are.

30% or more of the night in large leak territory is a fairly substantial leak that is both large and prolonged. While I might let a little large leak slide I wouldn't be happy with that result every night...I try to keep large leaks to 10% or less myself. It's my own personal line in the sand.

Bottom line though...don't expect your DME to do anything...now they might notice and they might not and they might decide to do something and they might not.
Instead expect to start any conversations about problems you might be having yourself. Now if they notice that's fine but just in case they don't...be prepared to instigate the discussion yourself.

They have lots of patients...and most of the time when they monitor new patients they are just checking for how many hours you used the machine. They may or may not even notice the leak data one way or the other or any other data for that matter.
