Encore Pro Flow Limitation

Post by alwealwe » Sun Sep 10, 2006 8:44 am

Last night my flow limitation was .9, but there were no marks on the graph in Encore Pro to show when they happened. My Encore indicates there were 8 flow limitations. I have never seen marks on the flow limitation graph in Encore Pro, just a total result per hour in the column on the right side of the page. There were 6 hypopneas and 1 apnea during the night. Can anyone explain the causes of flow limitation, and why the graph is blank? Thanks.

What version of Encore Pro do you have??

Version 1.5i had a bug that kept the tick marks from showing up even though the flow limitation number was correct.

Version 1.6i, at least for me, fixed the tick mark problem and now I know if the flow limitation made the pressure go up by looking at the tick marks and the pressure.

Malibu-thanks for your reply. I am using version 1.5. Can I upgrade to 1.6?

Only by buying the new version. No upgrades available to "patients"

I think that's a gripe when they can't treat everyone the same when it comes to upgrades.

We paid for it, you would think we would be able to get the update for free...

I can see paying an upgrade fee when going to version 2.x but not within the version.

The CPAP price is $170. My average AHI for the past 7 days is 1.5, so I think I will pass for now. I have slept well for the past 5 weeks, so the therapy is working well, even without the tick marks on the flow limitation graph.

Actually, since you already have the card reader according to your profile the software is only 99 dollars...

I've been using Ver 1.5.77 for quite a while now, With my Pro 2, I never even got the Flow Limation numbers everyone was talking about, now I use the APAP, I get the numbers but no graph hashes. My flow linitations are always under 1.0, I don't count them to mean anything useful, and there is no way to control them.

But for $10 a hash, I could get a version that will mark them on my screen.

I think I just pencil them in on the screen, and buy a Pizza. Jim
