Cpap turning off during night? (Newbie)

Post by lorib64 » Mon Jan 09, 2017 3:17 am

I have another question.

I woke in the night and there was no air pressure. My resmed had stopped running after about an hour.I hit the button and it started again. There is plenty of water. Is there something that would cause that?

It hasnt happened before. I just want to know if there is something I am doing wrong.

Do you have the "auto start" set to "on"?

If you have Auto OFF enabled in the clinical menu that is used to automatically shut the cpap off (after 1 minute) when you remove your mask. So if you have a large mask leak for a minute or more that can shut the cpap OFF.
Of course, IF/once the mask leak is sealed and the cpap detects breathing it should Auto-Start all by itself.

Do you have animals in the room? They have been known to step on the button. Although with an Airsense that button is smaller and would be harder to hit than a Respironics button.

I agree, disable this feature, it's not working for you. I don't think you can disable auto-off separately from auto-on (you can on the Dream Station).

On the Airsense 10 it is one setting and called SmartStart.
If you enable (Off / On ) the SmartStart feature, the device will start automatically when the patient breathes into the mask and then stop automatically when the patient removes the mask.
