Has he said what his objection to pap therapy is?

He would never wear it as he would feel clostrophobic. He is a mouth-breather, so would need a full mask (as I wear).
Plus I know he hates me wearing mine as his dad was in the hospital with a breathing mask a lot of the time for almost a year, before passing away. He said it makes him think I look like his dad.

I don't want him to have those memories, but on the other hand I don't mind my cpap at all & it helps me a lot!

But yeah, that is why he would never use one. He won't even give it a chance. I tried to even let him use mine, in the past, just to try the mask on. Yeah, didn't go well.

So basically he is letting fear destroy his health and his future and his families future.

I don't understand why they think it is "manly" to be a coward about health care.

Make sure he has good life insurance and health insurance and make it plain you don't plan to change his adult diapers if he has a stroke.

Yep, he is basically being selfish & not thinking about his family or our future, only his own thoughts. I told him that.

Plus I should add he has respiratory problems (allergies/sinus issues) plus has had heart pain in the past & is slightly overweight. Can we say risk factors?!!!!
And yes I have told him that too!

Thanks all. I brought it up & ended up in almost a shouting match between us with me storming upstairs crying my eyes out.

Keep in mind that irritability is a side effect of untreated sleep apnea. (cranky)

His response was he hasn't died in 52 years (his age) & doesn't plan on doing it now. And there is no way he is going to wear a cpap, so point in getting tested. I said there were other alternatives & he just shot me down & didn't want to hear.

Making bad choices is another symptom of untreated sleep apnea. Cpap is the very best choice to treat sleep apnea but there are other "snake oil" treatments available to take your money but that is all they will do.

Thank you, just so scared. Last night he was so bad & I think he is selfish to not think of me & our 2 young girls by avoiding getting tested & getting help. So glad I made slight progress.

But still sad.
