Does Apria Enforce A 5 Year Waiting Period To Get New CPAP?
Hey all. It's been a while since i've posted but still a faithful CPAP user. I got my ResMed S9 Autoset machine roughly 4 years ago. Its still working with no issues, however I did plan on upgrading it to a newer model with more features. Right now i've met my health insurance's deductible ($500 annually) along with having a few hundred dollars of FSA funds. I wanted to see if i could get a new CPAP machine before 2016 ends and my deductible gets reset. I don't anticipate reaching that deductible again for 2017 which would be my 5 year mark with the current machine. The health insurance plan i had when i first got the machine is not the same as the one i have now so i'm not sure how this would affect me asking my local Apria center if I can get a new machine. I'm trying to avoid buying from cpap.com as i want to try and save money and get it through insurance. Would appreciate an advice on navigating this. Thanks in advance!

Call your insurance provider and ask them. There's no way for us to answer your questions.firefoxsilver9 wrote:Hey all. It's been a while since i've posted but still a faithful CPAP user. There are also other venues for buying machines that are very affordable.

No. It's your insurance company who determines the benefit. Call them.firefoxsilver9 wrote:Does Apria Enforce A 5 Year Waiting Period To Get New CPAP?

The upgrade would be Airsense 10 Autoset. To my knowledge the upgrade/changes from the S9 are minimal. Apria would sell you a new machine every year, but it is up to your insurance as to whether they would pay for it. Some insurance will not allow a new machine unless you can show that your current machine is unusable.firefoxsilver9 wrote:Hey all. It's been a while since i've posted but still a faithful CPAP user. On the other hand, you need to spend your FSA funds.
Find out if Dec. 31 is the deadline or if there is a grace period.
I used Flex money at cpap.com with no problem.
