A missing SD card is easy to correct and stickiness from tape can be removed. You said it has 0 run hours. If you still want to spend your money, I'm sure acbio.com could tell you it is in good working order.
I either don't understand why cpap.com wanted to issue a RMA ticket to me. Possibly they want to shut up my complaint.
Should I spend more money and clean the machine myself after I already spend lots of money buying a "brand new" reputable resmed cpap machine from a reputable cpap.com.

I live in a big city, it is much easy for me to shop around different authorized dealers.
Their service department don't care my car bought from other dealer as long as me or car maker will pay the work.
RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorization) are a standard method of doing business......and especially with certain kinds of merchandise........like medical equipment or with serial numbers and higher priced items.
It's not that hard to understand and virtually all DMEs have to do this with returns, and especially if they need to go back to the manufacturer.

I didn't say there were no other GM dealerships in this area.......there have actually been a fair number of them. I was pointing out that this particular one wouldn't even talk to you if you lived locally and took your vehicle to them if it needed some mechanical attention. Living in big cities is something I HAVE done and never want to experience again. Too many rude and nasty people.

Thank everyone here for spending time writing your inputs.
If I can I will try to ask RESMED about their warranty for their cpap machine.

Hi everyone!
So my brand new DreamMachine (as I call it) arrived from the US this morning. No hassle at all - and only took about 10 days - amazing service.
Thank you all for all the advice - you have saved me about AU$2,000! Amazing really.
So my next challenge is to set it up exactly the way my trial one is set up - I'll no doubt be calling on some expert help from you guys with that! It seems some of the settings are locked - I'll have to read the instructions and try and suss it out a bit. I'll stick with my trial one until I get it going.
I guess if I post a screenshot of my SleepyHead stuff, you folks would get all the info needed to help set it up? I've been meaning to do that anyway - according to the DreamMapper, my AHI was over 6 the night before last (felt exactly like I used to feel pre-CPAP the next morning), so wanted to get some idea of what's going on - it's usually around the 2 mark (as it was again this morning).
Anyway - I'm soooo happy and so thankful for everyone on here's help - I'm hoping I can help some new people next year - CPAP really can be life changing, even for people with low AHI's like I did.

We don't sleep the same each night and sometimes we just have nights where things don't go as good. I don't worry about random and rare nights that are different from what I usually see.
Without knowing the make up of that AHI of 6...impossible to know what may have happened but there's usually a couple of potential ideas.
1....if the AHI is made up mainly of clear airway events then maybe the person simply didn't sleep well for some reason and a lot of awake/semi awake events got flagged by mistake.
2... if the AHI is made up mainly of obstructive stuff (the OAs and hyponeas) then maybe the person was on their back more or maybe got more REM sleep or maybe a little bit of both.
It's quite common for our OSA to be worse in either REM or when sleeping on our backs and maybe we need a little more pressure than usual and we didn't get it for some reason or other.

If you didn't get the clinical manual in the box with your machine you can go over to the apneaboard and request the manual be sent to you via email.
http://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p ... tup-manual
It will explain how to get past the locked settings as well as explain a lot about your machine.
