Struggling after successful months.

Post by LadyKiki » Sun Nov 27, 2016 3:13 am

the last few months I managed to adjust fairly easy to the CPAP. Sleeping a good 8 hours a night. Hardly missing compliance. I felt amazing.

Then I got sick. Got put on meds. Nausea. Anxiety. Etc. And now its like Im back to the drawing board. My compliance dropped, i have anxiety to put on the mask. I get nauseated again. Woke up burpy and bloated... its become a miserable experience once more. I hardly kick my 8 hours a night. Its taking a toll on me. Why is this happening? Is this a normal 'bump' im having?

Im struggling a lot currently with it. Im even taking it off during the night without realizing.. again!ack!

I am so sorry to hear you are struggling after getting off to a good start. What about posting some screen shots of data and perhaps the data experts can help you review it to see what is going on? Use the links in my signature to download sleepyhead and post the necessary information.

Also, what meds are you taking and why were you put on them?

Do what we advise newbies - wear it while watching a good movie. You have to retrain to let your brain know this is a safe and healthy thing.

My main problem is that i get nauseous with it now. Once I get past that, I sleep well. But I do wake up nauseated during the night.

Could you be unwittingly covering the CO2 vent holes with bedding, etc. when asleep? I'm trying to figure out why you get nauseous and it's the only Cpap related possibility I can think of. Otherwise, you should talk to your doctor to see what else is going on (unrelated to OSA/Cpap but exacerbated by Cpap).

hmm That would make sense, I have been covering up more than usual for sleep. I'll try tonight to keep myself uncovered and use it while playing a game, maybe lessen the anxiety I'm getting from it. Thank you

Do you have the nausea other times or just with the CPAP mask on?

I got put on doxycycline for 14 days (Still on it) I don't normally get nauseated without the mask... it's at the end of the night, the exhaustion from the day kinda hits me and I get sort of dizzy/nauseated laying down, and putting the mask on makes it worse. I also don't seem to be able to burp with the mask on, sometimes I wake up uncomfortable and take off the mask to burp :X

FYI

* nausea and vomiting

Why are you on this med? And if an antibiotic is absolutely necessary, would a substitute be a possibility?

A substitute wouldn't be a possibility since this is the med I'm finally getting better on, plus it's temporary. I realize one of the side effects of doxy is nausea/vomiting, I don't get nausea during the day though.

So the nausea is associated with your dizziness?
