Resmed Platinum RMA replacement stock

I just got my new Airsense 10 Auto and on the box it says Resmed Platinum RMA replacement stock. What does that mean?

that it's a replacement for something that the DME RMAd?

RMA = return merchandise authorization.
Your machine was a replacement for a returned machine.
You can check the run hours, and note whether the plastic film was intact on the screen.
Otherwise, it is assumed to be new.

How do I check the hours? It did have the plastic on the screen and button.

There were only 8 hours on it after my first night so it was new. I just thought it was weird that it said RMA replacement stock since I was buying a new one.

why? do you not understand what RMA replacement means?

seller has bad thing, seller does RMA and sends bad thing back to manufacturer, manufacturer replaces that RMAd item with "RMA replacement stock"

RMA != "refurbished"
RMA != "used"
RMA != "remanufactured"

EXCEPT maybe at the factory?

well, sure, they can reset 'em there. but they can also pop in a new motor there... which would make the run hours 0, yes?

To be fair, when we RMA a Dell computer or printer where I work, we get a refurbished unit.
But ResMed's Platinum Service Program appears to promise a new unit:

so I am guessing no one else has ever had one of these stickers on their box the machine came in? I will chat with Cpap.com and ask them why there was an RMA sticker on it.
