Still Exhausted

Post by Sruiz » Wed Nov 02, 2016 12:06 pm

I am trying to determine if sleep apnea or maybe snoring is the cause of my chronic exhaustion.

A quick background: I had trouble breathing as a child dx as allergies and had my adenoids out. Had a sleep study in 2011 which diagnosed mild sleep apnea but very loud snoring. Had my tonsils out in 2011 which helped my daytime breathing but no effect on my snoring. Have used CPAP on and off since 2011. I feel slightly better when I use it but not fantastic although it seems that I usually take it off sometime during the night as most days getting 4-5 hours with CPAP according to my sleepyhead data. I went camping this summer and didn't bring my CPAP and was told that I snored all night extremely loudly.

I am wondering if the snoring scores from my data would be considered high since my AHI is always low, usually 3-4. Last nights vibratory snore was 0.89 and vibratory snore 2 was 3.88 I will try to post a screenshot.

Thanks for you thoughts on this.

Sounds like a Respironics machine snore report and yes...those are high.

You will need to register here at the forum and then log in to be able to post an image of your detailed software report.
Once you do that you can then follow these instructions.

I suspect your pressure isn't quite optimal..and yes, loud snoring can impact sleep sleep quality which will in turn impact how you feel.

Turn off the snore graph and turn on the pressure graph.
We can see the snores on the events graph and don't need the snore graph.

Not sure if the graph, and analyzing it will explain why you are still exhausted. I have waves of exhaustion despite being a compliant cap user. My doctor suggests getting more sleep, and I sometimes do just that. No improvement noticed unless it us really narcolepsy.

'compliant' does not equate to 'effective'.
