Mark, I agree with you that the whole Window of this discuss website should be re -organized.
Most of the stuff on top of the page should be deleted and instead Pugsy should condense the series of (unexplained) screenshots into a user guide like summary.

Re: Detailed user guide for SleepyHead
You may find my SleepyHead guide over at apneaboard a bit closer to what you are looking for. The url is http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph ... SleepyHeadMarkWill wrote:I did, Pugsy, and I am very appreciative of you putting this together. But - very respectfully - while there's some good info there it's not a focused user guide. By way of example (and, again, I am somewhat sheepish about this since I truly am appreciative), when I open that thread I see a longish message in conversational tone.Pugsy wrote:Have you seen my tutorial on SleepyHead..top thread in the Announcements section of main forum page?
It's not the greatest composition because it's hard for me to put my thoughts into words but it is at least something to get you started on understanding what you see on the reports.
Read the tutorial and come back with specific questions for whatever might need further clarification and I will try to clarify it better.
It is not a finished piece of writing. And there are holes in it, but it is more organized and "focused" than Pugsy's execelent Pointers thread.

Re: Detailed user guide for SleepyHead
Robysue already did that. So I am NOT going to do a real SH user guide...my stuff was mainly to help people understand what they saw after getting Sleepyhead up and working and even then just the basics. Mark was supposed to finish his part of the project which was the actual User Guide...he didn't finish it and I simply don't want to do the work so I am not redoing anything except some time I might go in and try to polish up what I have composed so it is less rambling and maybe remove some of the posts that derailed things a bit because people would ask questions in the tutorial thread when I asked them to start a topic of their own. I will never understand why some people can't follow simple instructions.avi123 wrote:instead Pugsy should condense the series of (unexplained) screenshots into a user guide like summary.
I told people when they asked me to do this that it wouldn't be perfect but you know what....it's better than nothing which is what we had back when I did it. It's supposed to provide only the basics and get people started and then they are supposed to come here to the main forum and ask questions if they need additional help.
It was never supposed to cover everyone in the world's potential questions and give answers to questions in advanced that I didn't know what people would ask...my crystal ball isn't working.
You know what else??? I know I spent hours and hours and hours doing what I did...I had to find time between helping people here with real problems...yes, it's disjointed often. I will be the first to admit it but it is what it is and if someone else...like you Avi...want to take the time and do the work...and for free and do something else...hey go for it. What are you bitching for anyway...you don't like and won't use SleepyHead and prefer ResScan.
I was tickled to death when RobySue did hers...I wish I could write like she does but I can't and I stick with what I do best...technical stuff once someone figures out how to use SleepyHead which isn't difficult at all and most people don't need to be spoon fed the basics but for those that do...RobySue's composition is quite effective and sufficient.
She has a life outside this forum...as do I and I simply am not going to take on another major undertaking like you are so kindly volunteering me for. Not going to happen.
No..hers isn't quite finished and I know I sure need to polish mine up but we do it when we time and the energy and the desire....not when people demand it. This sort of work is EXTREMELY time consuming and we do it out of the goodness of our hearts to try to help people...not for money or praise.
It's really rude of you to be so critical...what would people have if we hadn't done what work we did? Nothing.
If you don't like what is available...you are entirely free to do your own.
