CPAP already intolerable

Post by seekingwellness2016 » Tue Sep 20, 2016 7:43 am

I've been trying to use CPAP for one week now. The first 2 nights I managed 7 hours of use, it did not seem that bad overall. I did not notice a huge difference, but maybe less fatigue during the day, and some headaches. After the first 2 nights I'm struggling to continue with it. I feel like I can hardly breathe and have to try to carefully regulate my breathing, and then I start feeling anxious. I've had to just pull it off after ~10 min in order to try to get some relief. This is already a disappointing habit to be starting, doesn't seem to bode well for treatment or for even keeping use of the CPAP (considering insurance requirements for use).

Why not start by filling in your equipment and telling us what your pressure setting is...then...download sleepyhead software so we can see some detail from your CPAP use.
Without specifics, we can't help you.

Yes, your settings might be too low to be effective (happens all the time), but we'd need to see more info to come to that conclusion before advising you to change anything.
