There are 2 travel size machines I have been looking into.
The Z1, and the Transcend. If you go to https://www.cpap.com you can see both and reviews.
They both have a trial period where you can try it and return it if you want.
The Z1 has a 15 day trial period.
The Transcend has a 10 day trial period.
The problem I have is I do not want to give up the humidifier. I think you can add humidifier to one of the above, and one has a small filter that acts like a humidifier. But remember, the mask and hose still take up the same amount of space.

That was me, Ayesha. The comment mild refers the classification label of severity of the apnea. With your other issues, its not likely that you won't need a cpap machine.
it's important, Ayesha, to remember that the classification of apnea "severity" refers only to the frequency of apnea events, and has nothing whatsoever to do with how bad they are, or what it would take to prevent them.

there are some people who have 'mild' apnea that require a lot of pressure to overcome it, and some people with 'severe' apnea that only require a little pressure to remedy the situation, basically, there's no correlation whatsoever between the 'severity' of apnea and what it takes to remedy it.

What would be best for you is to get as standard PR autoset to use at home for the first while. That will allow you to adjust and get in control of the situation. Once you have your therapy locked in and under control - then look for a travel machine that meets your needs. Most of them have rather restricted use. Another reason is that you will then have a backup machine in case things go wrong when you travel.

You may find that your acid reflux becomes less of a problem while using cpap. Note acid reflux can cause asthma like symptoms because the acid irritates your esophagus and cause mucus to accumulate to protect the delicate tissues. Of course there are some people who experience the opposite effect, but the majority of us find it beneficial.

With your cerebral palsy, have you seen the details of your sleep study? Is it only Obstructive apnea or does it include central apnea (where your brain forgets to breathe) If you have centrals then there is a different machine involved and none of the travel machines will do the job.

I don't think it's a good idea to mix terms when talking to someone new who's trying to figure things out.

PR = Philips Respironics, a manufacturer of equipment.

autoset = a specific machine from Resmed.

I realize, BS, you know better and that was likely just a typo, but I felt it important to make that clear for Ayesha.

Thanks - I have been painting all weekend and that for me is like smoking up, words get a bit random at times.
