Good morning. I'm delighted to report that it worked! I didn't feel any vibrations. I set the machine on autosetset for her mode, min pressure 6.8, max 9. Did a 40-min ramp as my habit for a few years has been to read in the dark, get sleepy, put the book aside and boom. (I have a Kobo Glo, which is not backlit LCD, but lit from the bottom with actual lights, so doesn't sap melatonin.) It was SO much better last night! I read with the mask on, got drowsy, and fell asleep much more quickly than any other night with CPAP so far. And there were no vibrations in the night either, or at least not that I noticed. Stats:

Can't thank you guys enough for your help.
Oh, and another question: What are your thoughts on travel CPAPs? The Transcend or Z1 seem to get the best reviews. I'm going to Australia in Feb for 6 weeks, and would like to lighten my load. Also travel regularly by train and bus to visit family (I don't have a car as I don't need one living downtown), so I'd get good use out of it.

I'd call that a win.Stacey99 wrote:Good morning. I'm delighted to report that it worked! I didn't feel any vibrations. I set the machine on autosetset for her mode, min pressure 6.8, max 9. no personal experience, what I will say is that reports I've heard say they're not as quiet, don't provide data, and often don't have a useful humidifier, and don't save that much space. and don't put 'em in your checked luggage, because while your luggage is vacationing in paris, and you're in oz, you'll miss it.Stacey99 wrote:Oh, and another question: What are your thoughts on travel CPAPs? Re: Strange vibration problem with AirSense 10
Definitely a win! Thanks again.
And interesting about the travel machines. Noise doesn't bother me since I have supersonic hearing and sleep with a white noise or else would wake up constantly. Although the noise must be steady. I'll have to go look at some in person and see what they're like. And will definitely not baggage check the machine! I got the letter from doc saying I have to bring it on planes.

Re: Strange vibration problem with AirSense 10
Glad the ramp trick worked last night.
About the travel machine. If you decide you want to try one....get it and try it ahead of time before you go on your trip to make sure that it works well for you. Don't run the risk of having the trip messed up because you can't sleep with the new tiny machine. That would be a lot worse than the annoyance of packing around the usual machine.
If you are like me and really need humidification then you may not like the travel machines. Humidifiers are either non existent or tiny rebreathing foam things to provide minimal moisture and for me that simply would never be a workable solution for my humidity needs.

Yes, good idea. I'm not sure yet how much humidity I need, so definitely need to experiment, etc. Thank you!
