Dream Station

Post by Wookies1 » Sat Sep 03, 2016 6:28 pm

I have been using the dream station since the 11th of august. honestly can say I'm even more tired using the machine than when I didn't my AHI hasn't been bellow a 3.71 yet and the highest has been 12.57. Tried calling the company the machine came from but they never returned my call... Tuesday I will be meeting with a representative of the company that administered my home sleep test maybe then I can get answers. these are results from last night. Machine is locked down can't make any adjustments to pressures

Your stats are not bad.

The strangest thing I see if the wide variation between the minimum and maximum pressure. I suggest getting the minimum raised.

Note that some people (such as myself) feel very immediate relief, and some feel very gradual relief.

Of course you can make adjustments. There's no way they can lock you out of the setup menu.

As was previously suggested, your minimum pressure is too low and too many events are happening before the machine can respond or get the pressure to a therapeutic setting. Your pressures are probably bouncing all over that range through the night. For some people, the pressure changes leave them feeling unrested. For other people, they handle it just fine. If you possibly suspect that is the problem, set your minimum and maximum pressures to the same setting (something in the vicinity between your average and 90% pressures).

Are you getting these figures from the LCD screen or from some software?

Edit to add:

You can download the provider manual with this link......if you hurry. (sometimes it works and sometimes it's restricted)

This is probably incorrect.

Based on these numbers

It's not that bad.

Let's fix SleepyHead so the time over leak red line is more accurate with your machine.

SleepyHead defaults to the ResMed red leak line threshold of 24 L/min and that won't work for the DreamStation due to the way your machine reports leak.
Go to Preferences in SleepyHead...then CPAP tab and on the right side change the 24 L/min to something around 70 L/min which is more in tune with where large leak would be with your machine.
We can't get it exact due to the vent rate changing with the pressure changes in auto mode.

Large Leaks will be flagged by the machine and show up on the Events graph on the LL line. I doubt that 1/4 your night was in large leak. If you had any large leak flags I imagine they would be very brief.

or, better yet, just uncheck the box of "flag leaks over threshold', since there is no fixed threshold with your machine.
