DrowsyDan, sounds like you have been up against it. My hat is off to you for continuing to exercise and stay fit, and getting your sleep study updated. Good for you. I am relatively new to CPAP (since December) so I will defer to the many kind hearted and well-informed folks here who can help you with that.

That said, I've had IBS since I was 12, and I know what a curse it is. In my family, it is genetic, and worse for males than females. But the myriad symptoms you describe could be caused by many things, including a worsening case of celiac disease. It will make you feel run over by a truck, CPAP can't help it, and the test for it is simple and quick. The disease is on the rise for reasons not clear to medical science. Or it could be a different sort of gluten intolerance. For me, I've learned some of the triggers, and they can be weird. (Dehydrated onion will darn near send me to the ER. Dunno why.). Or the energy issues could be a tiny tumor on your parathyroid -- horrid, life altering symptoms, easy fix. See parathyroid.com for a wealth of info. I guess what I am saying is that, even if you've had all these things checked out already, just (1) don't lose heart, (2) don't let the docs drop the ball, and (3) don't assume all your symptoms are strictly OSA related. Good luck.

I have heard that there are many false negatives on the "simple and quick" test. So the fact that you did not show as celiac on a blood test is not dispositive to rule out celiac. And yes, MisLizzie is correct that there are other forms of gluten intolerance that can be at play. There's been a lot of disparagement in the media about so-called gluten intolerance, a lot of name calling (fad, all in your head, etc.) but recent SCIENCE has shown that there gluten intolerance does exist. http://gut.bmj.com/content/early/2016/0 ... 11964.full

Speaking of disparagement, for every 100,000 dolts avoiding gluten, there is one who actually has non-celiac gluten intolerance.

Then I'm a happy dolt. No grain, no pain.
