Dreamstation - CFlex or aflex in auto mode
Hi all,
I just read that you can use c flex I auto mode on the dreamstation is that correct. Is it better to use aflex or c flex + . What be the most comfortable settings. Do people prefer one over the other. currently trying aflex on 1.
Cheers
Steve

Use whichever one feels the best and at whatever setting feels the best.
What I used really doesn't mean much because when it comes to Flex settings people have widely varying preferences. There's no guarantee that what I felt good with will work for you.
Play with all the settings (even off) and just use whatever feels more natural for you.

Re: Dreamstation - CFlex or aflex in auto mode
I have tried all the flex settings for many nights. The cycling up and down of the pressure on every breath is annoying to me. So, I don't use flex. My pressure range is 12 - 20, and it hits 18 or 20 most nights. It's not uncomfortable to me.stephennic wrote: Is it better to use aflex or c flex + . What be the most comfortable settings. Experiment and do what is best for you.

Looks like the dreamstation has 4 settings on CFlex and 4 settings on auto whereas the resmed 10 has only 4 settings on EPR, is that correct.

Re: Dreamstation - CFlex or aflex in auto mode
Hi All. I haven't been around for a while - my therapy has been great. I just got the Dreamstation Auto, and wanted to add some info in regards to accessing the provider "set-up" mode. Due to age or stupidity, I couldn't access it. Wasted a couple of hours trying - holding those stupid buttons down forever. Really long story short: If you have the heated hose, it has to be disconnected from the machine before you try to access the clinician's/provider's mode.
Also, I haven't seen Rested Gal's posts lately. Anyone know how she is doing?

For my machine, it was CORRECT. I've been on CPAP for 13 years with 4 different machines. This isn't my first rodeo. Hmmm, maybe your response is why I no longer post on this site.

Hothouse flower?
Re: Dreamstation - CFlex or aflex in auto mode
I'm more concerned with your post misleading new users, than I am with your feelings. if you don't like the fact that someone points out that what you said is wrong, then I'm terribly sorry, perhaps you'd be more at home over on apneaboard where you'll be treated like a delicate flower and allowed to mislead people.Linda3032 wrote:For my machine, it was CORRECT. check the manual, there's no mention of having to remove the heated hose to get into the settings menu, and if that was a requirement, you can bet that it'd be listed in the steps in the clinician manual, eh?

I just got the Dreamstation and I can access the provider/clinician menu fine with my heated hose connected.

Re: Dreamstation - CFlex or aflex in auto mode
Thanks I have downloaded the clinical manual and have been fiddling with the settings. I tried setting 2 on exhale relief at 6.5 ramp start pressure it was a too much relief, so put it back to 1 which seems to better for me at that pressure.
