Nuance Pro - need help please

Post by Lend27 » Wed Aug 17, 2016 2:19 pm

I am a new CPAP user.
I have tried a few masks and decided to try the Nuance Pro from Philips Respironics. I have the Philips Respironics Dream Machine with the Humidifer and Heated Tube.
I bought the Nuance Pro from Amazon. My only problem is I can't connect the Nuance Pro to the heated to connector. They are different type connectors.
Am I missing some kind of adaptor?
I'm hoping you guys can point me in the right direction. My doctor is closed until tomorrow.
Thanks
Len

It should connect without any need for adapters.
Check your hose to make sure that a little plastic part isn't stuck in the end. Sometimes people don't realize it and a little part from previous mask gets stuck in the hose and prevents other masks from attaching.

If that doesn't seem to be the problem can you get us a picture of the hose and the part of the mask you are trying to attach to the hose?

The first pic is showing my Dreamware mask connected to the hose.
The second pic shows the two connectors side by side
The third pic shows the two connectors from a different angle.
The fourth pic shows everything including the retail package I bought.

Thanks for your help!

I think that the white part that you see inside the hose that is causing the problem is a part of the DreamWear mask.
I have the DreamWear and I just went to look at the part that sticks in the hose and it's white and it slides off the clear elbow.
I think it has come off the DreamWear and got stuck in the hose.
That white part shouldn't be in there.
Maybe take some tweezers or something to get a hold of the edge and pull it out.

Never mind, I see Pugsy likely solved the problem.

Here's a pic of the connectors on both masks:

On the left is the Dreamwear connector, on the right is the Nuance Pro connector.

Have you tried removing it from the mask and then attaching the machine hose?

Yes, the short hose comes attached to the Nuance Pro mask and can't be removed from the mask.

The Dreamwear did not come with a short hose. It connects directly to the heated tube.

Your DreamWear connector picture is missing the white part that is stuck in the hose.

Part of your DreamWear mask is stuck in the long hose. Look closely in the long hose and the white plastic thing doesn't belong in there.

Do you need me to get a picture of my DreamWear?

That did it!
I was afraid to pull that white piece out for fear of breaking something, but it came out pretty easy when I tugged on it with the tweasers.
All is well now
Thanks Guys!
