I wanted to reply to this, because your question infers a doctor actually put some thought into your settings. He/she didn't. Those are the default minimum and maximum pressures for that machine. No one gave you the benefit of any expertise or guidance; so why would you consult with someone who didn't even give you a "prescription", other than a machine?
Your minimum pressure needs are higher than 4.0, and could be in the range of 6-7. Changing settings is very easy if you get the manual. Just press the control button and ramp button at the same time, and you're in. Understanding your machine and your therapy will end up being your responsibility, and unfortunately, you cannot depend on the medical community, and specifically the doctors and equipment providers that arranged for your machine, for the best care. It is offensive that someone like yourself, cannot get the minimum standard of care to help them resolve a serious problem. You were basically dispensed a machine, and you're on your own. So sad.
