Bad night
Bad night
Just looking for general info here. Since I got my machine (somewhere between 2-3 weeks ago, I think) I've had GREAT sleep. Like, my usual habit of sleeping 9-11 hrs per night and waking up exhausted with no ability to function has been gone! I typically sleep between 6 and 7 hrs, and wake up able to do the housework myself instead of waiting for the kids to get up and do their chores. But, yesterday I slept 8 and was tired earlier than normal, and last night I actually slept for nearly 9 1/2 hrs, and feel like I did before the machine! AHI was in what is normal for me.,(1 C A, 1 O A, 3 hypopneas). So, what I wondered was, what are the most common causes of those anomelous bad nights. I realize not having sleepy head means no specific to me info, I just wondered about the most common problems, sort of like a "troubleshooting" guide...

Re: Bad night
It sounds to me like your body is adjusting to therapy... 6-7 hrs then other nights 8-9 hrs can confuse one's brain and nervous system, especially after years of untreated apnea. Try to find a happy medium you can stick with, at least until you adapt to your CPAP.4kidsmom wrote:Just looking for general info here. I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

So this is probably just part of the normal process, most likely? Yuck, but I guess I can wait it out awhile and see if my body adjusts back to sleeping less and waking up feeling better again. As long as it doesn't go on TOO long, cuz I was enjoying waking up with energy like that. Thanks!

Re: Bad night
We all seem to have occasional bad nights that can't be explained. I have had nights where my AHI has gone as high as 6 and other nights when it was less that 0.5. There is no big difference in leaks that I can see, my bed time is the same every night, within 30 minutes, and I average 7 1/2 hours sleep every night. I can't explain the differences. As Pugsy says, blame the bad nights on "the aliens". That's as good of an excuse as any.
