Triple whammy may be the cause of my problems

Post by andy2016 » Wed Jun 29, 2016 4:01 pm

So turns out, not only do I have sleep apnea (symptoms: depression, fatigue, mental fog), but I also have severe B12 deficiency (symptoms: depression, fatigue, mental fog) and severe Vit. D deficiency (symptoms: depression, fatigue, mental fog). I truly believe my problems are a combo of all three. I say this for sufferers, like me, to also look at other very crucial factors that can be contributing to similar problems. I read somewhere that vitamin D deficiency and sleep apnea go hand in hand in majority of cases. Simple answer is because the individual is overweight and as they suffer from sleep apnea, they also cannot absorb enough of the vitamin. Interesting stuff!

FWIW, a few yrs ago I went on B12 and found it immediately helpful to my mood, etc.

I would word it as a "result of" Sleep Apnea. (not the "cause" of your problems)
Sleep Apnea (low-oxygenated sleep-breathing) can/will result in throwing your bodily metabolism out of whack.
Get your XPAP therapy optimized and take some supplements. Lots of us do. You're not alone.

Oh I have....thanks to you guys (men/women). Lowered my AHI to 1.27 , started supplements, as well as, started going to the gym. Only thing left is to be patient...that is the hard part.

Yep! It's "baby steps" and "one night at a time". The vast majority of us have experienced gradual improvements and not the instantaneous revelation/restoration.

The first morning after my first night of therapy, I woke up and said to myself......."One night down and the rest of my life to go". My first year of therapy was complicated by all the stuff going on at work and trying to get enough sleep.
Hang in there.
