Changing masks makes a huge difference
Changing masks makes a huge difference
So initially I was using the nasal pillow and I just couldn't breath. I gave it a shot for a week and although my AHI went down, I didn't feel refreshed. Yesterday I switched to the WISP nasal mask for the first time and sleep 8hours waking up just once and feeling better and bit more refreshed. My AHI was 3 but its a vast improvement from 67 per hour. My hypopnea index was 3 per hour. How do I decrease that further? Thanks

I think your doing a good job. Most ppl could only dream of having that low of numbers. Pun intended.

hypopneas normally respond to higher pressure.andy2016 wrote: My hypopnea index was 3 per hour. How do I decrease that further? Thanks

Re: Changing masks makes a huge difference
Yeah, you might be right. As you can see below, set pressures are 8 to 15 max. It is actually 9 to 15 , not sure why it says 8. Anyway, I keep hitting the max and my avg. is closer 12.5. So is it long enough to request an increase or should I give it more time?palerider wrote:hypopneas normally respond to higher pressure.andy2016 wrote: My hypopnea index was 3 per hour. the statistics page tells me very little.andy2016 wrote: Anyway, I keep hitting the max and my avg. is closer 12.5. So is it long enough to request an increase or should I give it more time?
I like seeing nightly pages with the charts, showing how things progressed through the night. trying to summarize the whole nights activity in one or two numbers leaves too many questions unanswered and offers too many chances for bad guesses.

OK. Not sure which graphs you were referring to so I just pasted all of them for last nite. Thanks.palerider wrote:the statistics page tells me very little.andy2016 wrote: Anyway, I keep hitting the max and my avg. is closer 12.5. Re: Changing masks makes a huge difference
Change your min pressure to 10 and max to 17.

though the time at pressure graph would be nice, if the scale hadn't been cut off.

How do I get it from cutting off on the right side?

Re: Changing masks makes a huge difference
the screenshot you posted looks good. that right panel is useless for figuring out what's going on, same with the calendar, which is why hitting F12 turns them off before it takes the screenshot.andy2016 wrote:How do I get it from cutting off on the right side?
I was about to say "great" about the screenshot, then I saw your comment.
I'd say set min to 11, and max to 17, or more (I usually just leave max at default, 20 because for most people, the pressure won't go much higher than needed... though there are exceptions... however respironics machines are slower to raise pressure anyway, so that's less of a concern with them.
