Preparing for my first night on CPAP

Post by mjmia3 » Mon Jun 06, 2016 9:30 pm

Hi All,

I picked up my AirSense Auto for her today, and I'm trying the Dreamwear mask. Do you know if the AHI is calculated off of run time, or when it senses you are asleep? I'm afraid of wearing it for fun while awake as it could artificially lower AHI. My pressure range is 5-15. I am fairly familiar with CPAP. My daughter had it for a few months (severe OSA that corrected with removing tonsils/adenoids), my mom and both of her parents are also on CPAP/BiPAP.

Wearing it while awake will help you hit compliance numbers though. If you use sleepyhead to check the data, you can see what's happening with your ahi when you know you are asleep,so the machine number won't matter so much.

Will most likely RAISE your AHI.
