One night in with Therapy

Post by lathnos46 » Fri May 27, 2016 6:53 am

I am excited! I had my first night as a new Xpap patient and it wasn't bad at all. After the normal period of getting used to it I think my energy will be so much better and I can't wait. I got a ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset for Her and an Amara View mask. I had some air leaks but finally got it adjusted correctly and it was almost silent and comfortable. I've heard it takes a couple of weeks to get used to Xpap therapy but after the first night being relatively easy it's only upward from here.

Fantastic that you have got off to such a great start!
I too had a pretty easy time adjusting to CPAP but in spite of an AMAZINGLY easy first night, nevertheless had a few bumpy ones after that. So, just to let you know: it's normal to have difficulty sleeping sometimes in the first few weeks. If that happens to you, please don't be discouraged!
As you said, it's all up from here.

Excellent news Lanthos
Indeed always upwards.

Have to admit I have been on CPAP for a number of years now and will admit that as time has gone one I have had a few set backs and wanted to give it up but never feel you can't turn to your lab for advice. I found masks could be an issue as I am a dual breather - mouth and nose although now due to teeth grinding I have found my new DreamWear amazing.

It certainly does get better and I am so thankful for my CPAP
