Nasal question

Post by sleepy1216 » Wed May 18, 2016 9:08 am

I just switched from the full face mask to the nasal one. The pressure seems really strong and if seems like I'm getting too much air.
Is there something I'm not doing right?

What pressure are you using?
Which nasal mask?

You probably aren't doing anything wrong...it's just the air seems stronger because it is coming in more directly (less diffusing in large volume full face mask) and it just feels like it is a lot stronger. I use a nasal pillow mask...when I try a full face mask the pressure seems like it is much less but in reality it is the same...it just feels different.

It's the AirFit P10 for her.
I'm going to try the auto ramp tonight and see if that helps.

Pugsy is correct, I thought the same thing when I first changed to nasal, took a little getting used to but now I wouldn't use anything but nasal. Give it time and fight the frustrations, use Ayr gel if the inside of your nostrils gets dry or irritated, that too will naturally work itself out over a short time. Come here often for suggestions and advice, that's the best thing I ever did!

Think of it like your outside water hose......without changing the pressure you can turn the nozzle to a hard spray ( like air forced directly into your nose) or a wide spray (air diffused into the ff mask so you breathe naturally). Pressure seems stronger, but, it really is not.
