Data output on s8 auto vantage

Post by halb » Wed Aug 30, 2006 8:44 pm

I have a resmed s-8 auto vantage w h3i with the ultra mirage ii. I have it set to 11.2 in cpap mode with epr set at 3. i'm wondering why when i wake up in the morning the screen says my pressure is 10 not 11.2 ? is the 10 an average pressure which includes the drop in pressure from the epr- (i'm assuming that a ramp of 5 minutes from 9.8 should not drop the number so low to 10)?

The efficacy data reported from the machine's LED reports the 95th percentile. In other words, 95 percent of the night's session time was spent pushing air at 10 cm or less.

Keep checking back and other more experienced members will help you out.

Uhhhhmmm ...yea that's right I was thinking auto. Sorry I'm stumped. Check back on your thread, I'm certain someone on the forum here has the answer.

what the machine "reads" is what is displayed on the LCD, it then calculates the 95% pressure, AI and HI information.

According to the machine, your pressure if in CPAP mode should be set at 10cm based upon that session's data.

This doesn't mean it wasn't deliverying 11.2cm, it just means that all the events it seen were seen at a pressure of 10cm or less.

You might want to check it with a manometer to make sure it is delivering the advertised pressure.

The Vantage S8 is showing 10 as the 95% pressure because it's an average of 11.2 on inhale and 8.2 on exhale since the EPR is set to 3, the small difference being rounding error.
