If you could have any machine, what would you pick?

Post by mjmia3 » Thu May 05, 2016 8:29 pm

I'll find out of Wednesday if I need CPAP or BiPAP. Homecare said I could pick any machine I wanted. Even if I do not use an autoset, it is billed the same and they would provide it just in case I change to auto some day. I know they have the Resmed S9 (all varieties), Dreamstation, and the AirSense variety.

Tell them you want an auto (esp. if it's billed the same anyhow), because a Cpap has no auto mode, but autos can do Cpap.

Avoid the S9 Escape Auto. It is also a brick.

I would ask for the ResMed Airsence 10 auto for her.
If they will give you ANY machine ... get the Aircurve 10 vauto
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Get the Clinicians manual here : http://apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-press ... tup-manual

I would have perfectly happy with an S9 auto. I like my Airsense.

The Dreamstation has the advantage of a slower to respond algorithm, which may be beneficial for some people, but didn't work out for me.

Also ask for the climateline heated hose to reduce rainout.

So the AirSense 10 is still the favorite to the S9? Does that include the S9 ST-A model?

The Airsense 10 line up is just an updated version of the S9 lineup, with a different form factor and integrated humidifier and cellular modem. The S9 and A10 lines both have several different models that provide several different types of therapy. The ST is s bilevel device. With the A10 series, the bilevels are called Aircurve 10 instead of Airsense 10. So an Aircurve 10 ST would be similar to an S9 ST. Besides form factor they're essentially identical.

the ST-A asked about is not the same as a ST,

as far as I know, there is no air10 ST-A yet.

I'd pick a huge, gold plated, gaudy machine with a big T emblazoned on it! That I can tell you ! Nah, I'd actually just take the same one I have now, an S9 Autoset.
