Sleepyhead bug

Post by K8TEK » Mon Apr 04, 2016 3:10 pm

Using the latest version of sleepyhead. 1.0.0

When going full screen, the menu at the top of the screen is inaccessible and it is impossible to close the program.

Anyone else experience this?

No problem here. Is your screen resolution set correctly? Only thing that I can think of at the moment.

Microsoft, calls those kind of problems "Features". The problem is your settings for screen res. Jim

I use a 13" MacBook Pro - the one with retina. And I tried the fullscreen feature - just 'cos I'm curious.

The View drop-down menu says 'Fullscreen toggle - f11' - but on my Mac, that key doesn't change the view, it just gives less volume. As usual.

BUT, if - while in fullscreen - you run the cursor right to the very top edge of the screen, hey presto, the menu bar re-appears. And then you can click on the green dot (or box symbol in older op systems) to change back to 'not fullscreen'.

Maybe it's the same for the computer you have.

In my experience, it's always worth trying a buncha things before saying 'it's impossible'.

The menu items at the top of the screen are visible, they just aren't clickable.

Nothing in the menu bar is clickable.

This is not an issue with screen resolution.

On edit:

Uninstalling it didn't fix the issue. I needed to manually remove the entry from the registry to fix it.

The only thing in the registry that I see is a geometry binary value that disappeared when i reinstalled it.

You don't say, but I'm assuming you're using Windows - 7, 8, or 10 - esp. because you mention Registry.

And if you know that much, I expect you also know about keyboard-commands. But just to be sure that the obvious isn't being overlooked, have you tried - once in Sleepyhead, and then in fullscreen - the old stand-bys? Ie:

CTRL + f4
ALT + f4
'Windows key' + M

Actually, ALT + F4 and Win + M don't work, which is why i'm reporting this bug.

Did you ever figure out a solution? Just downloaded last night and screwed myself by clicking full screen. removed and installed program 3 times to no avail.

Edit: the windows symbol + M worked for me

I have the same problem. I have the new download of Sleepyhead for my DreamStation. I have a new laptop that came with Windows 10. I can still download my information from my card and the program works great updating all my daily info and charts. However, when I attempted to put my charts in order to post to the board for help is when I ran into trouble. My problem is identical to K8TEK. If anyone finds a solution to this glitch and this post stops, please PM me. At this point I don't want to mess with anything as my computer skills are limited. Thanks

I still have not found a solution. I just don't use full screen because it breaks the program.

Just one more question...new @ this. I assume you uninstalled your previous downloads of Sleepyhead before finally settling on the installation where you don't enlarge the screen to keep the program functioning. My knowledge of computers is limited. To uninstall a program, is it enough to just uninstall in the control panel? Some one told me that I have to do more than that in the registry. If so, can you walk me thru it? Second question is with the program in the reduced screen (not enlarged), would I be able to arrange my info into charts for submission to the board for evaluation? Any help would be appreciated. I have the DreamStation and Windows 10.
