I used the sizing template to order a nasal mask and it suggested standard size. It seems to work OK. However, when I went in for a mask check another DME tech said I needed a wide mask because the edges of your nose should never touch the sides of the mask. I tried that one and it feels loose. Will need to field test it more.
But what do I follow? The sizing template? The tech? Are there any sizing tips from people who have used the mask?
edited to add: she also told me I had to change the mask very 2 weeks. I could not find out from Resmed what they recommend.

Re: Swift FX Nano mask sizing
You have to try them on lying down, because your face falls away from them then and while your nose might not change, the rest does and you, and only you can judge what feels right... not a tech and not even a template (which I never found to be terribly accurate). Plus do NOT listen to twits who tell you to change masks every week, or month etc... you change them when you feel they're worn beyond use, and for some of us, if not many, that even equates to years, if careful! The DMEs make money every time you litter the landfills, so once you have a back-up set of equipment, just use what you need and don't accept more.
Cpap.com has a program where you can try masks x 30 days for a small 'return' fee... as many as you want I suppose, at a time.

Re: Swift FX Nano mask sizing
That's the mask I use. My nose piece lasts for months. I usually get about 3-4 months use out of one nose piece. The headgear will last till it breaks.
Sizing is a personal thing. Just see which size gives you the most comfort and least leaks, and feels like it fits.
I have found the http://www.padacheek.com mask liner greatly adds to the comfort of the mask against my skin.- and it lasts for 6 months or so.

In case anyone wants to know: the best way of measuring success is by using sleepyhead to see the leaks
Using the size recommended (standard) by the maufactruer and my testing

The tech's recommendation with the wide nosepad

I tried various tightness on the wider nosepad, even pulling it in so tight one night that it caused pain over my temples.
