Haha well if this thread can help facilitate improvement for them as well, thats ok with me!

that's a big improvement, you may be able to do better.

if you're sleeping comfortably, I'd say raise the max higher, and see if the machine can tame some of the things where it wanted to go higher than 10.

and consider, after a couple nights, possibly going to 8 or 8.5 as the minimum.. you're much closer to where you need to be now than where you were.
I'm learning! I was thinking the same thing. Definitely a lot closer (and perhaps starting to feel a little better) thanks to everyone's help!. I will post some updates as things progress.

Thanks,
Jon

Couple more nights under my belt and AHI still floating between 3-5. Only the first night was under 3. When I logged into SH this morning with last nights data, it said "You are having major leak problems" This is the first time I have seen this and am not sure what to do about it. The Peak leak and no breathing is me getting up to use to restroom - but it doesnt seem like there are any other huge spikes.

Are you experiencing any dry mouth? This would be an indication the leak is going out your mouth.

If you do not have dry mouth --------------------->
To reduce unintentional mask leak -

- Make sure the mask is fitted properly. (See mask manufacturer's video.)

- Make sure the headgear is adjusted properly (See mask manufacturer's video.)

- If you use a low ramp pressure or a low minimum pressure, you should fit and adjust your mask at the higher pressures it is operating at for most of the night. You would temporarily change the machine pressure settings while you do the fitting and adjusting. It's best to do this well before bedtime before you are tired and ready for sleep. Don't forget to change your settings back to the ones you prefer.

- Make sure to use good hose management - the hose should not pull on the mask. Notice how your hose is positioned between machine and mask. It should be positioned to minimize any pull on the mask. Hose management is an individual practice. How it is done depends on the mask, the position of the machine, your sleeping position and other factors specific to the individual.

- If you still have problems, learn from the forum what mask liners are available.

- If your mask still has excessive leak, try other masks. Many people report trying several masks before they find one that works well for them.

Note: Links to just about all of the mask manufacturers' instructional videos can be found on the forum host's website - https://www.cpap.com/cpap-masks.php

This was not a cool comment. Trying to help three people in one thread can be confusing for everyone.

Agreed, my apologies to everyone.

Started a new thread "Large Leaks".

Still not experiencing any dry mouth - However I think your suggestion of setting the mask fit at the higher pressure first will help, Thanks!

I agree, I just meant I am glad they were able to get answers or start their own post on the topic because of this thread.

Thanks,
Jon

there's nothing to worry about, sleepyhead is kind of stupid in some ways, and this is one of them.

respironics and resmed handle leak reporting very differently, and the warning you're getting is meaningful if you had a resmed machine, which you don't.

when I was working with the developer, I tried to get things like this changed, so as to cause less confusion. my user advocacy is what caused our parting of the ways.

go into the preferences menu, on the cpap tab, and uncheck "flag leaks over redline".

your machine flags what it calls "large leaks" and it determines what those are as it goes along, so there's no set value, but where there are large leaks, you'll see ticks in the 'll' line in the flags section, and a gray background on the charts.

Thanks Palerider - The setting I saw was "flag leaks over threshold" in my software version.

as long as you found something that looks right... the wording seems to wander

Update: I have been starting to feel slightly better, however my numbers started to creep up again. I purchased a chin strap because even though I didnt have dry mouth, my girlfriend would tell me she could hear me opening my mouth in the night. Anyways, night 1 with the chinstrap and the numbers got lower again. Hoping to continue to improve and make adjustments as necessary. I meet with the doctor for a follow up next week.
