The issue with dryness is mostly with my throat. While there are no guarantees on what my mouth is doing while I sleep, I'm 99% sure it is not open. I use a nasal mask - for a while on the Mirage FX, with some testing lately of the Wisp.

That's exactly where it would be "dry" if you were mouth-breathing or mouth-leaking.

Back in 1962, ice cream was sold by weight, the only fair way, the product can be whipped up adding more air in the product, cheating the customer.

Same for easy spread butters, water added. Now profit is the only concern, not quality. Jim

Hi Sheriff.

Been wondering how you were getting along with your experiment with "passover" humidity.
Glad to hear it seems to be going well.

Den.
I ended up bumping the humidifier temp one notch to a .5. Any higher, and my sinuses go berserk. Too much wet. But it helps out on the dry mouth. Thanks for your help. Sheriff

I do not like change either sometimes, You must be set in your ways.
You can get a piece to attach to the hudmidifer side to make it smaller and not use the hudimafier at all, I have taken this machine on travel and to oilfield work camps and have had great results.
Sometimes older equipment is better because the older engineers were told to build things as strong and practical as possible not as cheap as possible, the A10 to me is very solid piece of equipment with well thought out software and it should help your sleeping.(sooner or later you will have to upgrade.)

Just hooked up my new auto sense 10 and am not very happy with it right now either. Apparently the pressure relief is not enabled so exhaling is difficult. the option to change that is not shown in My Options, nor is the setting for Smart Start which is also not enabled. Anyone know how to access these settings? It would be nice to know how to change the pressure settings as well. I haven't changed them in years, but I did do some experimenting with my old autoset 8 to arrive at my current settings which is where they set them when I got the machine.

Awesome. Thanks. Now why wasn't that included with the machine?

Depends on where you got the machine.
If it came from a brick & mortar DME, they're instructed to remove the clinical manuals.
If you were to have gotten it from an online seller like CPAP.COM, it would have been included.
I've heard stories where the b&m DMEs have forgotten to remove them, but that's a rarity.

I'm guessing that if you had more humidity without heat, that you'd get rainout aplenty. Heating air increases the amount of humidity that it can maintain without raining *smile*. If you had cool mist in an unheated tube, I'll bet that a good amount of that would condense on the tube itself...

Anyways, I'm sure that you can find your comfort zone one way or another, you have lots of variables. Passover heating sounds a bit religious, but I assume that refers to turning off the heat altogether and just putting air in the humidifier *smile*. If you do that, I'd recommend using some insulation around the tube, like a hose cozy or something, that would keep the tube from getting too cold. That's what I did when we drove up north of Glacier Park, and the temperature in the tent got below freezing in August *smile*, and that worked for me, no rainout.
