How can I read my own card?
Hi I think it would help me so much if I could read my own card whenever I wanted instead of having to wait for sleep doctor appointment.
I KNOW there's a way to do this--Something maybe with a software called something like Sleepyware?? And have to get a card reader too?
My machine happens to be a:
Respironics Bipap AutoSV but I think maybe it's not machine specific anyway??
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!!

Sleepyhead. Type it into the search window;
and read until your eyes feel numb.

Most newer computers have a built in card reader,,,,,just a little slot on the side of most lap tops.CentrallyTired! wrote:Hi I think it would help me so much if I could read my own card whenever I wanted instead of having to wait for sleep doctor appointment.

Re: How can I read my own card?
Welcome to the Respironics ASV club!
To read the data from the card and create your own reports:
1) If you have a Windows computer, then either SleepyHead or one of the Encore programs will do nicely.
2) If you have a Mac, then only SleepyHead will do.
I use both as the differences between the reporting allow me to look at the data in ways that are useful to me.
For example, if what you want to look at is a detailed examination of your breathing patterns during the night, then Encore is the way to go. If, OTOH, you take the card out of the machine too quickly (i.e., too soon after getting up) in the morning, the Respironics may not have completely closed out the files on the card and Encore may or may not be able to read the data for that night but SleepyHead certainly will (I've done this several times ). I wait at least 10 minutes before removing the card.
If you want to look at the details of the breathing data, then you will need to read the card every day with Encore because Encore only loads about the last days breathing data. Sleepyhead reads it all so, after a while, if you are comfortable with looking at the data once a week of so, Encore gives you daily detail data while SleepyHead give you daily detail data as well as keeping all of the breathing data. If you skip days with Encore, there is no going back to get the old breathing data. SleepyHead has no such restriction.
To get either, post a request for software to read Respironics SD card data an ask for either SleepyHead or Encore and you will get a link to download what you need.

Re: How can I read my own card?
Thanks so much everyone! I have to admit I’m still confused though—Because I’m reading conflicting info roundabout and I didn’t tell anyone which machine I used (just updated my profile).
Since I have a Phillips Respironics Bipap AutoSV…
I’ve been reading…
1) SleepyHead can’t be used with Respironics?? But JDS--You just said welcome to Respironics club Does that mean you have Respironics and Sleepyware does work? Evidently! Good news.
2) But if I want or have to use Encore Viewer instead—I've been frustrated so far because it's discontinued and I couldn't find. But I'll post a request as you've just suggested next!
3) I have a SmartCard rather than SD card—And have to get special reader—which does seem to be still sold. One post said a generic reader could be used—but everywhere else I read seems to disagree—that Phillips intentionally made their smartcards so nothing could read them but their own machine (?)
Thanks again!!

Re: How can I read my own card?
sleepyhead works with the system one machines, the 950 and 960 AutoSV Advanced.
you can use encore, or encore pro with your machine.
your smart card needs a specific reader, the infineer 3500, I tried using a generic smart card reader when I first got a cpap, .... doesn't work, at least, doesn't work with encore. maybe usb smart card readers are all different and you have to talk to each one differently.
when you move to a machine with an SD card, then any generic sd card reader works with those... that's probably where the confusion came from.

Re: How can I read my own card?
I've been using a Phillips System One RemStar APAP, may I receive the proper Mac link for SleepyHead?
