For me Aeorphagia was greatly influenced by certain foods! I had it bad to the point I thought I was going to have to give up bipap which would be horrible for me (severe case apnea).
It was a FLUKE that I asked my hematologist (I also have hemochromatosis) if she knew if MINT OIL had high iron content? (because Mint in general does, and I'd been using this (almost pure) Mint Oil Breath Spray a LOT. As she spoke about mint she said in passing that Mint relaxes the lower esophageal sphincter, a muscle that is located at the end of the esophagus, often causing heartburn. WOW all of a sudden it clicked! If it relaxes that muscle that closes the stomach--maybe it ALSO relaxes whatever "valve" or closure that is supposed to keep that cpap air going down your AIRWAY and not down your espophagus! PRESTO NO KIDDING I'm stopped using that mint oil and most of my aeorphagia problem went away!!

Maybe not everything that effects stomach valve also effect airway valve (ok so I'm not a Doctor!) But I bet there are SOME that effect both! I'm absolutely certain mint does for me. So I just copied a few things here from web-possible other culprits!:
"The following foods weaken the muscle valve in the lower esophagus, aggravate acid reflux, and should be avoided":
- fatty or fried foods - oils
- peppermint and spearmint - chocolate
- whole milk - creamed foods or soupsI

Food/Diet Triggers
If you suffer from frequent heartburns after eating, chances are you’ll need to start watching your diet. This is because certain foods and beverages can relax the LES and cause acid reflux. These include:
Fried or high fat foods like fries, high fat cuts of meat etc
Whole milk dairy products
Chocolate
Alcohol
Caffeinated beverages such as coffee, tea, cocoa and soft drinks
Peppermint
Finally I also read nicotine relaxes that muscle.
Maybe this can help! Truly for some I bet this is the key!!
